Who we are
Rochester Car Rental is a family-run vehicle rental company based in Rochester Hills, Michigan, that delivers rental cars to both passenger terminals at Detroit Metropolitan Airport and to addresses across Metro Detroit. It has been running since 2021. There is no counter, no lot and no office to visit, because the entire operation is built the other way round: the car is driven to you, and at the end of the rental it goes back to your departure terminal, or to another Metro Detroit address arranged with us in advance.
The fleet runs to 60+ vehicles, of which 16 are bookable online today, from $55 a day to $945. All of them are owned and maintained by us rather than sourced from a wholesale pool, which is the difference you feel when the same car comes back trip after trip instead of whatever the lot had left. Servicing is on schedule, tires and brakes are checked between trips, and every car is fueled and cleaned before it is handed over.
The cars live in Rochester Hills, Romulus and Detroit. Romulus matters more than it sounds: that is where Detroit Metropolitan Airport is, so several of the cars are already sitting beside the airport when your flight lands.

- Who owns the cars?
- We do. Every vehicle in the fleet is owned and maintained by us rather than pulled from a wholesale pool, which is why the same cars come back trip after trip and why we can tell you the history of any of them.
- How long has Rochester Car Rental been running?
- Since 2021. In that time we have completed 1,371 trips across roughly 22,000 booked days, and the review history for all of it is public on our Turo host profile where we cannot edit it.
- Is there an office or a rental counter I can visit?
- No. We are delivery only. Nothing here is a place you visit: the car comes to your terminal at DTW or to your address in Metro Detroit instead of you coming to us.
- Where are the cars kept?
- Across Rochester Hills, Romulus and Detroit. Romulus is where Detroit Metropolitan Airport sits, so the cars closest to the airport are already beside it when your flight lands.
- What makes this different from a rental counter at DTW?
- You never leave the terminal. The car is driven to the arrivals curb at McNamara or Warren Cleage Evans, timed to your landing, and it arrives fueled and cleaned. The handover takes about two minutes and then you drive.
- How do I reach a person?
- Email admin@rochester.rentals or call (313) 980-6644. The same people who answer are the ones who hand over the keys, so there is no call center between you and the car.
